AT&T U-Verse Offers Multiview of Cubs Games

If you can’t get out to the ballgame, but still want to root, root, root for the home team you can do so from home of course, but it isn’t quite the same. You’re always stuck watching what the TV director wants you to see. That is until now. This year AT&T and WGN-TV are offering a new TV app that lets users view up to four different camera angles of the Chicago Cubs home games at one time. Users can choose from the main WGN-TV Chicago game broadcast as well as six alternate camera angles. This gives viewers the ability to feel like they’re in the stands at Wrigley Field.

Users have the ability determine which of the seven provided channels is the “main picture,” and then set up the alternate camera angles to cover the rest of the field, including home plate, third base, first base and center field.

Hockey is another sport that is getting the multiview treatment

“Only U-verse TV customers have the power to choose how they watch every pitch and home run at the Chicago Cubs home games,” said Dan York, president of content, AT&T. “With Chicago Cubs Multiview, fans will get a full-field look at this season’s home game action from WGN. It’s like you’re sitting in the production booth and calling the shots. We’re excited to deliver this new capability with WGN, all enabled by our advanced TV service and technology.”

The app is available to users at no extra charge for the Chicago Cubs home games that air on WGN for the reason of this season. AT&T had introduced its award-winning Multiview app last fall, and viwers can enjoy Sports Multiview, Kids Multiview and News Multiview at no extra cost as part of their normal package. AT&T U-verse TV is delivered to homes via 100 percent Internet Protocol (IP) technology.
