With the purchase of the pet photo Polar Bottle, you also have the option of showing your support to the HSBV. Along with the printed pet photo, a tiny banner stating “I SUPPORT the Humane Society of Boulder Valley” or “I AM AN ALUMNI of the Humane Society of Boulder Valley” can be added. The Humane Society of Boulder Valley provides shelter and care to more than 9,000 animals each year, with 91 percent of the animals being successfully adopted or reunited with their guardians—one of the best adoption rates in the nation. The organization takes in animals from the local community, and also has a transfer program where it accepts abandoned pets from other regions, saving thousands of animals from euthanasia each year.
As I sit here and type this post, a cat that was part of their transfer program is sitting in my lap. Ti, our 14 year old tabby, was originally from another shelter out-of-state before we adapted her from the HSBV. She, along with Spicy a feral kitten, were both adapted on the same day from the HSBV in 1997 and have been with us ever since.
