Commute With Timbuk2

We can only imagine what a commute to Timbuktu would be like, especially given that the city of just 55,000 people is located in a fairly remote section of the Sahara Desert in the West African nation of Mali. But commuting with Timbuk 2 – the durable bag and accessory maker – well that’s another story.

In fact the company just introduced its new Commute Messenger bag that can hold a laptop, tablet computer and other electronic devices in special compartments. The bags are TSA complaint so the laptop compartment lies flat for security screening, while high density foam protects your stuff. There are internal mesh pockets to hold cables and power supplies.

Made of durable ballistic nylon fabric with a waterproof TPU front flap these will stand up to daily commuter or global treks. There is even a vista loop for attaching blinky bike lights, a red key tether and a luggage pass through to make the Commute Messenger a wheelie companion.

The bag is now available in three sizes with the small designed for laptops up to 14.4-inches, the medium for up to 17.1-inch laptops and the large for those 17.5-inch laptops. If you have a bigger laptop might we suggest you hire a few porters if you plan to do any exotic travel?

The Commute Messenger bags do feature two water bottle pockets – so if you do need to trek across the desert you’ll have something to drink.
