When you’re not on the green, you can still be thinking about golf with GameBook, a social networking platform for golfers. The platform, which is available on the web as well as for Android and iPhone phones, lets you connect with your friends and other golfers, create challenges and tournaments, and keep score on your game. You can also see where you fall against others on the leaderboards.
GameBook is running a challenge with prizes through July 2, 2012. The GameBook USA Golf Challenge, which is open to all golfers who register with GameBook, will feature weekly challenges for players who register their golf rounds on any course using the Golf GameBook on the iPhone, Android app or on the web through the Golf GameBook Clubhouse profile. Each individual round of golf on any course counts, as long as you keep score on your profile. GameBook will give away an Apple iPad and Nike VR Pro Driver signed by 2009 British Open Champion Steward Cink. In addition, three $100 Golfsmith gift cards will be drawn each week of the challenge.
Even once the challenge is over, you can create your own with friends and nearby golfers by adding tournaments and challenges on your profile.
