You Pump iPUMP

iPUMPHitting the road without a plan for a flat tire is almost like asking to ruin the ride and perhaps the day. If you don’t want to lug around a large pump and don’t care for the one-shot functionality of those CO2 cartridges, the iPUMP might be for you. It features a carbon fiber body and Presta connector so it can pump you up – or at least your tire – quickly and won’t take up too much room in a pack or pocket.

The iPUMP is being developed through a Kickstarter project and apparently a lot of people are pumped up. More than 400 people have helped it go way past the developer’s $10,000 goal. Video after the jump

Mini Pump You Up

SKS-PumpBig things can come in small packages and that’s the idea behind the SKS Spaero Sport, a high pressure mini bicycle pump that features an extendable, flexible inflation house. It is also protected by a streamlined dust cover to ensure that it can handle off-road riding as well.,

It features a unique design that allows the pump base to be placed against the ground or rim to provide leverage for inflation, which can help make the pumping a little easier. It offers a maximum pressure of 115 psi, so it can’t get road tires road hard, but it can be enough to ensure rider’s who get a flat don’t have to walk home.

Very Logical Pump

Commuting to work requires a bit of planning ahead. A flat tire can’t be an excuse for being late. In addition to carrying a spare tube it is a good idea to have a pump – even if you’re using a CO2 inflation system. It is always good to have a backup plan in place. The problem with being prepared is that it means carrying way too much stuff. One easy solution is a seatpost pump.

BioLogic hasn’t introduced the first seatpost to include a pump inside, but the company’s logically took the concept to the next step and fittingly named it PostPump 2.0. What makes stand out is that instead of a low-capacity pump that will have you trying to pump air until it is lunch time, the PostPump 2.0 functions much like a high-capacity floor pump.

It features a flip-out foot stand and yet makes use of a saddle as a handle so users can actually stand while pumping. The design further features precision-machined aluminum fittings to ensure maximum pressure and stroke volume. It also offers a flip-to-fit adapter so it can be used with post Presta and Schrader values. And yet it can still be integrated inside the post. This design recent won a 2012 red dot product design award. Continue reading Very Logical Pump
