Eurobike 2012: Sidi Out With a Wire

For 2013 Sidi will be introducing its new line of Wire shoes – which actually made its debut at the Tour de France on the feet of Peter Sagan of the Liquigas-Cannondale squad. The new top of the line shoes showed up at this week’s Eurobike in Friedrichshafen, Germany.

The shoes – as the name most certainly suggests – take advantage of Sidi’s Tecno 3 ratcheting cable system across the entire foot for a more comfortable and uniform fit. A full-release switch makes it easy to take the shoes off in a snap. Continue reading Eurobike 2012: Sidi Out With a Wire

EuroBike: Urban Arrow Aims to Be Second Car

Many people in the Netherlands don’t own cars and rely on bicycles to get around. But even those who do own a car tend to use the bike as a “second car,” and that’s what the designers of Urban Arrow are aiming for this new cargo bike.

Bakfiets Urban Arrow is a multi-function cargo bike that includes a padded, rain-protected cargo box but as taken the concept beyond pedal power, adding an electric motor to help riders get from point A to point B. The bike was first unveiled at the 2010 Eurobike trade show and is being demonstrated at this year’s show. As the video suggests this could easily be a second car for just about anyone – the question is whether the car crowd could be swayed to become pedal pushers. Video after the jump
