Flywheel Me to Dubai

Hitting the bike often means working up a good sweat but even the hardest of the hardcore likely wouldn’t want to put in the miles in the desert outside Dubai, while riding in the city could mean dealing with some serious traffic. So the solution for those who want to get into the spin in the ultra-modern Middle Eastern city is to head to the gym.

Flywheel Sports Dubai has announced the opening of its indoor stadium cycling studio. The first was established in New York City in February 2010 by a team of entrepreneurs including fitness icon Ruth Zukerman; and has been designed to provide an intense and empowering cardio experience led by top-notch instructors in which each ride is a unique, full-body workout. Study: Cycling Offers Economic as Well as Health Benefits

There is no denying that we at KineticShift love our bicycles. While not everyone on our staff is a regular bike rider, even those that don’t do the two wheel thing admit it has many benefits. The report calculated that these measures would save an estimated $7 billion, including 1,100 lives each year from improved air quality and increased physical fitness.

“We talk about the cost of changing energy systems, the cost of alternative fuels, but we seldom talk about this kind of benefit,” says Jonathan Patz, director of the Global Health Institute at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. But this summer London has introduced another type of painted marker – and this one is a lot more than just merely “look” plastered on the ground. London now has cycle superhighways, with the first two being opened this year, and to keep riders safe the routes are marked out in bright blue paint.
