Kangaroo Water Bottle Holds More Than Water

When going for a run it is good to bring along some water, and virtually any water bottle on the market can do that. But what about bringing keys, money or ID? If you like to run without stuffing the pockets that means more stuff to carry.

But the Kangaroo Water Bottle from Contigo can solve the space issue for you as this 24-ounce bottle, which is made from high-impact BPA-free plastic that is also dishwasher safe, offers a compartment that can hold some ID, a little cash and a key. It isn’t a lot of space, but simply having any room for this stuff is great. The bottle also features a carabiner clip so it can hang off a belt or backpack – just be sure the bottle doesn’t get snatched, especially if you have your ID and key inside!

Clean Bottle Gets Square

You can’t easily fit a square peg in a round hole, but there are times when it isn’t only hip to be square but square is simply better. Our friends at Clean Bottle have kickstarted a new project – via Kickstarter – to bring out a square stainless steel version of the ever easy to clean Clean Bottle.

The bottle is lined with BPA-free plastic so as to have no metallic aftertaste, while the shape was carefully considered to ensure a perfect fit in the hand. The thread-less neck also helps that water won’t dribble out of the side of the mouth while drinking. But as with all Clean Bottles, the concept is simple – both ends come off to make this one darn easy bottle to clean! Video after the jump

Hands Free Bottle Glove That is Still in Hands Reach

When is something “hands free” if it is still within hands reach, and actually worn a bit like a glove? This is the first question that comes to mind with the Salomon Sense Hydro S-Lab set, which are sort of like gloves with a water bottle attached. H2bike System Water Bottle Meets Bladder System

There are those that love hydration packs but others dislike the idea of wearing a backpack filled with water. The Israeli company BlueDesert seems to have a solution – it basically turns a water bottle into a hydration pack that allows for sipping of water while on the go but without the need to war a bladder pack on the back.

The solution is fairly simple. The SmarTube (as it is called) is basically a coiled hose that connects to the bottle and acts as a straw for the rider. It also features what the company calls the SpiralTube, which mounts to the handlebars and automatically spoils the hose when it is released.

Vargo BOT Water Bottle Cooking Pot

The Vargo BOT is not some sort of robot that will cook dinner for you after you’ve gone hiking. But it will allow you to carry water to a campsite and cook in the same vessel. Basically the Vargo BOT is a titanium water bottle and cooking pot in a single, lightweight package.

Unlike most cooking pots this one is designed to carry water without spilling liquid all over everything during a hike, and unlike water bottles this is safe and stable for cooking. It fits in most backpack water bottle pockets, while the screw-top lid can be turned upside-down for cooking. The temperature resistant O-ring won’t melt even when exposed to high heat. In other words, a perfect solution that means one less thing to carry.

Pure Bottle is Glass and Safe

A common question is plastic or paper – at least at the grocery store. In the old days there was also a choice between plastic and glass, as in bottles. However, glass can be a problem as it is prone to breaking. So most sports drinks are only available in plastic and few brave souls would consider going on a hike with a glass bottle.

But Pure might be changing the way we look at glass. The Pure Glass Bottle is a new portable, reusable glass drinking bottle that allows people to enjoy the pure tastes of beverages in glass without the worry of injury from broken glass. Continue reading Pure Bottle is Glass and Safe

Sunday Q&A: bübi bottle’s Inventor Gives Lowdown

Craig Madaus is an athlete but also an entrepreneur and principal of Ocean Sailing Consulting LLC. He has traveled the world looking for new places to run, and along find that staying hydrated was a big issue because store-bought bottles were environmentally inexcusable, while conventional, refillable bottles took up as much space empty as they did full.

Thus was born the bübi bottle, the first scrunchable refillable water bottle. Craig tells us its story. Continue reading Sunday Q&A: bübi bottle’s Inventor Gives Lowdown

The New 24/7 Bobble

A water bottle is now as much an accessory as an MP3 player or pair of running shoes for the exerciser. Bobble just created a new version of its popular filtered water bottle, the Bobble 24/7. The Bobble 24/7 is 24 oz (750 mL), and comes in magenta, blue or gray. Continue reading The New 24/7 Bobble

Scrunchable Water Bottle

Back in March we profiled the Vapur Wear water bottle, a soft-bodied vessel for beverages, and now we have heard about the Bübi Bottle, which also offers a simple solution to bringing a water bottle along for a walk or hike and not knowing what to do with it when it is empty.

This reusable bottle is “scrunchable” and is made of high-grade, BPA-free silicone, so it can be used with cold and hot drinks alike. It holds 22 ounces and is dishwasher safe so you can be sure to keep it clean too! Video after the jump

Tapping Into Something

Hydration packs are fantastic for carrying along water or other beverages for a long bike ride, hike or run. These are easy enough to fill up from a faucet but less so on the go. Now the Source Universal Tap Adapter makes it easier to refill the reservoir through the drink tube rather than in the opening in the back.  The UTA valve works with different kinds of taps and even water bottles, the latter needing a bit of gravity of course. From the wink the pressure is all you’ll need.

This allows a new way to fill up, but also gives new meaning to backwash. Continue reading Tapping Into Something

Vapur Wear

There has been a big move against the one time use “throwaway” water bottle, but there are times when a reusable water bottle is a pain. It is great for carrying water, until it is empty. Then it takes up room, and for hiking and running this is space that could often be better utilized.

Vapur has its own take on this problem with the Anti Bottle, a soft-bodied bottle that can be rolled, folded and most importantly of all reused. It works like a hydration bladed but in the size and basic shape of a bottle. The new Element is built for those times when a lot of water is required, or just for those with a bigger thirst. Consider this the big gulp of foldable water bottles. It is available in 24 and 34 ounce sizes, and offers a “SuperCap” for those with big mouths or bigger thirsts.
