Nike Embellishment

Nike has always been a company that has seen fit to add some embellishment to shoes in the name of style, but the new Nike Golf line of women’s shoes actually combines the four-shoes-in-one concept that promises an updated, modernized design that is lighter and gives golfers more control at impact.

The Nike Lunar Embellish golf shoe, which is available starting today, is significantly lighter than the previous model. It weighs in at just 8.6 ounces thanks to the incorporation of lighter materials and a slimmer, more refined design that keeps athletes comfortable and reduces fatigue. This in turn allows them to forget about their feet and focus on their round.

The shoes feature Lunarlon Technology that provides responsive cushioning in the heel and works in conjunction with Integrated Traction on the outsole to provide control at impact. For style the shoes also feature two reversible saddles – four colors in total – which allow female golfers to match their shoes to their outfits, bags and more on any given day.

Nike’s New Air Time Bag

Nike Golf has caught some Air – namely the Nike Air Sport carry bag, which weighs just under five pounds but provides the compartments to carry all the gear you need. It features Nike’s proprietary EquaFlex Max Air curved revolving double strap system, which distributes bag weight evenly across the shoulders because all those clubs, water bottles, balls and personal items can add up fast.

This bag also helps golfers stay organized while hitting the links. It features an eight-way, three full-length divider system for maximized club visibility. Nine functional pockets, including a water-resistant fleece-lined valuables pocket, insulated cooler pocket, quick access drawstring pocket, full-length apparel pocket and scorecard/pencil pocket.

The Nike Air Sport will also be available in nine colorways that coordinate with hues featured in Nike Golf’s Spring 2014 apparel line.

Garmin Approaches the Green

Garmin might not help you get on the green but the Garmin Approach S4 GPS Golf Watch will help you find your way on the course. It is loaded with a database of more than 30,000 golf courses, plus this watch can stream notifications from a mobile phone via Bluetooth. Nike’s MOD Putters Get in the Groove

Nike Golf is looking to get into the groove – with its Polymetal Groove technology that allows athletes to tackle the challenges of launching a ball on the green with consistency and confidence. The Nike Method MOD putters, which will be available November 1, are inspired by some some of the most popular putter models of the past four decades, while Nike Golf engineers combined tradition and innovation.

Each Nike Method MOD putter is weighted to length to ensure proper feel, and the line offers a range of toe hang options determined by where the weight is in relationship to the putter head. This allows athletes to choose a model to his or her personal preference for optimal forgiveness, roll and accuracy: MOD 00 (face-balanced); MOD 30 (30 degrees of toe hang); MOD 60 (60 degrees of toe hang); and MOD 90, (90 degrees of toe hang).

X Cube Marks the Spot

Improve your swing with the Golf-X-Cube, a patent-pending training aid that can make the game on the fairway a little more enjoyable. It consists of a UV-resistant polyamide reinforced cube with a hole on the bottom to insert a tee to keep it in place.

Golf Sense Swings With New Features

Zepp Labs has announced a major update to its mobile swing analyzer system, the GolfSense system, which features a wearable motion sensor along with a free mobile app. This helps golfers analyze and improve their golf swing.

The GolfSense 3.0 version features a SwingScore, which evaluates the quality of each swing based on personal goals; provides a Dashboard that identifies what golfers are doing well and what needs some work; and provides a Lab Reports that analyzes and tracks the trends throughout a session. Those reports can even be shared via social media including Facebook and Twitter. The GolfSense system also lets users isolated a single aspect of the wing via Focus Screens, while the app can track club head and head speed, plus backswing position and even help golfers achieve their ideal swing plane.

GolfSense 3 is available for download from the App Store for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch or from Google Play for Android mobile devices for free. While this might not get you on the pro tour it might be enough to help you knock a few strokes off on the way to the green.

Swing Right With the Swingbyte

Golf has been around for a long time, and while the game has evolved over the years with new equipment the last decade has seen the game on the green really go high-tech. Among the newest advances are apps, and the Swingbyte is one that works with Android and iOS and features a simple device that attaches to any club including driver or putter. It is paired with a mobile device via Bluetooth and automatically records details on swings including club head speed, acceleration and club face angle.

With this users can analyze each swing and see what they were doing right and wrong.
