Europcar Rides in Carbon Ion Jersey

The Tour de France is underway and while it doesn’t appear likely that Thomas Voeckler will be able to see himself back in the yellow jersey as he did last year, he should at least be very comfortable in his Team Europcar Professional Cycling Team kit made by Louis Garneau.

It is features coldblack Carbon Ion, which reflects heat and helps cool the rider. And while the team wears green and black the fabric can cool riders as effectively as if the clothing was white. The coldblack treatment further offers increased UV protection, which is good for anyone who is going to be out on the road for five or six hours a day.

This works by utilizing embedded carbon fibers, which also help to reduce the overall weight of the jersey, and prevent electric charges from settling on the body, thus avoiding a negative reaction on muscular contractility. The carbon fibers also accelerate the movement of humidity through evaporation.

And this jersey might help Voeckler make up lost time as well, as it is the first to feature Speedtech fabric, which has a dimpled mesh construction that reduces aerodynamic drag and is designed to improve aerodynamics for speeds ranging from 15 to 45 mph. On the roads of France this clothing should have the team looking and feeling good.

Louis Garneau Gloves Constructed for Just the Right Fit

Cycling gloves are essential for anyone putting miles on the bike. And the fit of those gloves means everything. The Mondo glove from Louis Garneau has a few features that focus on fit, function and comfort.

On the palm, the Mondo gloves have perforated padding that’s specifically designed to relieve pressure where the hand comes in contact with the handlebar. Specifically, the padding is engineered to relieve pressure on the median and ulnar nerves, which reduces shock and increased ventilation. Personally, when I go on some of the longer rides I find my hands get a bit numb, so these gloves may alleviate some of that discomfort.

On the top side of the glove, laser cut fingers are paired with a seamless construction, which prevents irritation. The seamless construction relieves pressure points and eliminates bulge that’s found on some gloves with extra stitching and seams.

The Mondo gloves from Louis Garneau run about $44.99.

Carbon Team Player From Louis Garneau

While the new Carbon Pro Team cycling shoes from Louis Garneau will be available in red and black when they hit stores in January we think they could help riders such as Thomas Voeckler, who will be wearing these next season, get in yellow!

These offer the latest in shoe technology innovative for optimized performance, and feature a lightweight outsole that still provides added ventilation without compromising stiffness. Designed for racers, these further offer a thin design that achieves a position that closer to the pedal to offer increased power, while the rear heal features HRS-300 technology, an internal polymer system that secures the foot in place, optimizes fit meaning less power loss through slippage. Interbike 2011: Louis Garneau Rolls Out Mondo Evo Jersey and Bibshort

Proving again that performance doesn’t mean sacrificing quality, Louis Garneau is rolling out its new Mondo Evo Jersey and Bibshort, both are designed for performance as the jersey offers an aerodynamic fit, and the ibs have been clinically tested to increase blood flow and blood oxygen levels in the body.

The Mondo Evo Jersey features Aero Lazer Band sleeves that are laser-cut and hemless for a smooth transition from fabric to the skin, while also being superlight and thin to provide a second-second feel. The Mondo Evo Bib is made from a Cell-Ion fabric, and in addition to providing better flow, it has been clinically proven to relieve pain, increase comfort and actually aid in healing. The bib reportedly balances body temperature to help athletes achieve maximum performance. The 4Motion chamois combines 3D pre-shaped wings and a deep split at the back to provide multi-direction motion, while the central channel is shaped to help relieve pressure, plus the chamois has a high-tech baceriostatic carbon top sheet.

Both the bib and jersey feature reflective accents to add a level added visibility while riding or training in traffic. So you can feel good and feel a better safer still. The Mondo Evo Jersey will be available for $159.99, while the Mondo Evo Bib will be available for $189.99, and both will arrive in stores in October.

Louis Garneau Introduces Europcar Pro Cycling Styled Brain Bucket

Louis Garneau has always taken helmet design very seriously, and while function remains key, the line of helmets has a excellent form as well. This is certainly the case with the Quartz line of helmets, which were introduced last year.

The Quartz helmet allows the rider to keep cool even when things heat up, thank to the enormous ventilation channels made possible by the MSB technology – a monocoque structural base at the base of the helmet that reinforces the perimeter for enhanced protection. This is further enhanced by the Composite Reinforcements that spread the shock of impacts, provide support, and are lightweight. Finally, the Patented Spiderlock Elite Retention has been hailed as one of the best in the cycling industry, and this allows the user to adjust the helmet with only one hand to ensure safety while on the bike. Interbike 2011: Key Brands Returning

As we head into spring that means we’re at about the “half way” point to another Interbike, the the cycling industry’s annual flagship trade event. Hands on First Look: Louis Garneau T-Flex 300 Cycling Shoes

Truth be told a lot of cycling shoes look about as stylish as bowling shoes – sorry bowling fans but in the fashion department you’re left at the discount bins. Fortunately, Louis Garneau has stepped forward with its line of cycling attire that includes footwear.

We just received the new T-Flex 300 shoes and nothing could make us more upset to see the snow and mud still covering the ground. These shoes are so pretty that we can’t imagine taking them out in these conditions – and that could be about the only bad thing we have to say about these shoes right now. In a few weeks when the conditions permit we’ll be sure to put these to a true test, but for now we’re impressed with the look and more importantly the feel of these shoes.
