Wi-Fine

Fujifilm has introduced its latest line of Wi-Fi cameras and these include the FinePix XP200, a rugged model that is waterproof to a depth of 15meters (50 feet), shockproof to a drop of two meters, is dustproof and can operate in low temperatures to 14 degrees F.

This camera is not light on features, and includes a 16megapixel CMOS sensor, and offers continuous shooting at a speed of 10fps, along with ultra high speed shooting at 60fps. Camera Cover

There are plenty of waterproof action cameras on the market but most don’t offer the features of a DSLR. Few high-end DSLR cameras can get all wet and wild. The Outex Waterproof DSLR Covers can solve the problem.

These hermetically sealed wetsuit housings will fit almost any DSLR and lens setup, and keep the camera and rig dry up to a depth of 10 meters. This is a modular system as well so it can work with a variety of bodies, lenses and flashes and grow with a user’s set up. Video after the jump

Light Jacket

Having a light jacket on a cool day is never a bad idea, but having a jacket that can light up is a great idea for those who run or cycle after dark. The Badger 360° LED Jacket incorporates small LED technology to help illuminate the jacket to ensure that wearer’s can be seen.

The creators – who have launched a Kickstarter campaign to develop the jacket – have embedded it with LED string that is low current, waterproof and flexible. In addition this jacket is made of polyester material that can help wick away moisture, while providing multiple pockets for mobile phone, ID and other can’t leave at home ideas. The hood of the jacket can be tucked away when not in use. And since batteries do run down, there are even reflective stripes along the zipper.

Best of this jacket is even waterproof – and once you remove the battery – it can be submerged in water to be washed. Video after the jump

Go Back to Berkeley to Get Low Down

They say you can’t go home again, and while we don’t know what they mean or who even “they” might be, we do know that you can get Back-To-Berkeley and even do so down low, or rather Back-To-Berkley Low Down via a trip to North Face.

The outdoor retailer is offering these hiking shoes, which could allow you to walk back home or to the back woods. Waterfi Can Get All Wet

There are plenty of waterproof headphones and even waterproof MP3 players available for swimmers, but what about those who just have to use their iPod device? The answer could be the Waterfi, a waterproofed iPod Shuffle. The latest version of the Watefi features dual layer waterproofing technology, which is basically covering an iPod Shuffle with a rubber insulator. This reportedly provides some shockproof along with making the device waterproof. This can keep the player watertight up to 100 feet.

So basically this is just a stock iPod Shuffle that is covered in rubber, but for those who can’t live without their music even in the water, this could be the way to go.

MarineCase II Waterproof Smartphone Case

Since the form factor on the iPhone has largely remained the same – until the larger screen and thinner body of the iPhone 5 – case manufacturers have had great success offering cases for the single-model. Android and other smartphones, however, have very different form factors, and therefore don’t have as many options. This is why it’s great to see the MarineCase II, a universal-sized waterproof hard case for large screen smartphones.

The MarineCase II is IP58 certified against sand and water intrusion. It protects against water, sand and dust. It is shock and impact resistant against scratches, dents and screen shatter. The case can go up to 20 feet – or six meters – under water and capture video while being submerged. Manufacturer Concord Keystone makes the MarineCase II with a high-impact polycarbonate, integrated with a silicone surface for even more protection. The case is shock and impact-proof for drops and bumps. Continue reading MarineCase II Waterproof Smartphone Case

Ecoxpower Brings the Gear

We’ve seen a new trend this year with bicycle hub-attachments that power lights and more. Earlier this month we noted the BikeCharge Dynamo and now rugged outdoor and waterproof lifestyle product maker Ecoxgear by Grace Digital has introduced the Ecoxpower pedal powered headlight and smartphone charger.

This nifty gizmo attaches to most standard and oversized hubs, which is what the Dynamo and other devices do, but the Ecoxpower takes it a step further by providing handlebar mounted, water-resistant yet touch-screen compatible phone/GPS case. This solves the problem of worrying about that expensive device while riding home in the rain. Continue reading Ecoxpower Brings the Gear
